Day Centres and Drop In Programs
Community Living Greater Sudbury/Integration Communautaire Grand Sudbury also operates three Drop-In Centers and one day program. Certain group homes also have a day program component.
Our day program services offer the following supports:
- The supported employment/volunteer job placement component provides participants the opportunity to work in their home community.
- The leisure/recreation components offer a variety of activities, as well as the supports necessary, enabling participants to experience new opportunities.
- The community living skills component offers instruction in a number of skill areas. Training is provided in those skill areas that will most enhance their quality of life e.g life skills training.
- The communication component provides augmentative and/or alternative communication assistance to the participants, permitting them the opportunity to express their needs and desires.
- Sensory stimulation is available for participants who have sensory challenges.
- Community integration/exposure: participating in community events, having guest speakers/presenters, share their knowledge and experience and teach new skills.
- Fundraising: programs may host different special activities to support purchasing items for supplies, programming needs, eg: outings, crafts, etc.
